Dear Friends,
"Who could she turn to?" She had been violated by a clergy person she trusted, and her world was now collapsing. She felt alone, isolated, afraid, guilty and ashamed.
"Who could she turn to?" AEPPP, Associates in Education and Prevention in Pastoral Practice. Since 1991 AEPPP has been one of the few resources available for people of all denominations who have been sexually abused by clergy.
AEPPP offers advocacy, referrals and support in the aftermath of pastoral abuse along with consultation and services for congregations struggling in the aftermath of betrayal bya clergy person.
AEPPP is a national provider of the acclaimed "Is Nothing Sacred?" retreat for victims and survivors, along with training for clergy and support and coaching for "After Pastors" (clergy who follow in the wake of an abusing colleague). We are a trusted and experienced resource, there for survivors, churches, denominational leaders and clergy.
"Who could she turn to?" The person violated by a clergy exploitation will tell us, there are few resources to heal in the aftermath of this all too frequent violation. But there is AEPPP.
You can help keep these life saving resources available by making a contribution to AEPPP's work and ministry. Your gift of:
- $50.00 provides care and support for a victim of clergy abuse
- $100.00 provides coaching and support for an After Pastor
- $250.00 provides a scholarship to an "Is Nothing Sacred?" retreat
- $500.00 provides a workshop for a local church on domestic violence
- $1,000.00 provides a day long workshop for clergy on professional ethics
"Who could she turn to?" A gift in any amount will help many silent victims begin to heal. Raising awareness is a challenge because we assure complete confidentiality to those who come to us. Yet even in their brokenness they are able to feel the love and concern provided by your crucial financial support. Contributions are fully tax deductible. Keep us in your prayers and thoughts, and thank-you in advance for your support.
Faithfully,
The Reverend Patricia L. Liberty
Executive Director
