RETREATS FOR SURVIVORS OF CLERGY SEXUAL ABUSE
Is Nothing Sacred? is the nationally acclaimed retreat for women survivors of clergy sexual abuse. Developed by Marie Fortune from the Center for the Prevention of Sexual and Domestic Violence, AEPPP trained with the center in 1993 and has provided the retreat ever since. Is Nothing Sacred? is known for its effectiveness in healing and supporting survivors in their recovery from clergy sexual abuse.
Those who have experienced sexual contact with someone in a pastoral role often feel a profound sense of betrayal. The double trauma of sexual exploitation, and the betrayal by a trusted religious leader creates wounds that do not heal easily.
If you have suffered in silence as a child or adult, parishner, volunteer, employee or student intern, this retreat is for you.
In a safe, supportive group you will have an opportunity to reflect on your experience, find support with other survivors and consider options for future steps as you pursue healing in your life (Note: This event is not for incest survivors of clergy parents
